Dr. Norman C. Sussman, DC, CSCS
Dr. Sussman is a 1996 graduate of Logan College
of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduation he was
in private practice in Massachusetts. He offered chiropractic
services to the Amherst community. In addition, Dr. Sussman had
a working relationship with the University of Massachusetts Health
Services and Athletic Trainers treating NCAA Division I college
athletes.
Dr. Sussman addresses neuromusculoskeletal conditions that arise from sports injuries, trauma, and repetitive stress. Dr. Sussman views the necessary components of healing as treatment offerings coupled with patient generated self care and exercises that promote function and reduce activity avoidance behaviors. These strategies assist the innate wisdom of the body and awareness of the mind to bring about recovery.
Dr. Sussman relocated from Massachusetts to Lake Tahoe with his
family and resides in Incline Village. He enjoys the benefits
of swimming in Lake Tahoe, healthy cooking, exercise, and being
out in nature.
Dr. Sussman holds licenses to practice chiropractic in Nevada, California and Massachusetts.
Dr. Sussman is credentialed as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA). He developed his PumpSafely program to reflect a functional model of healthcare that allows for active participation in fitness activities and prescribed exercise while offering therapeutic interventions that encourage continuity of training.
He currently offers private and semi-private personal training
and sport specific conditioning at the Incline Village Recreation
Center and other local health clubs.
